Code of Ethics

I am a member of the Association of Dreamwork Practitioners and before becoming my dreamwork client I ask that you read our Code of Ethics (pdf) stating our commitment to our dream clients.

Statement of Understanding

As a dream client of Mary Jo Heyen, I have read and concur with both the Code of Ethics and Statement of Understanding as posted on her website.

I know that Mary Jo Heyen is not credentialed or licensed as a physician, counselor, therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist or social worker.

I understand that work with dreams is a learning experience and spiritual exploration. I also understand that working with dreams can lead to many positive feelings as well as uncomfortable feelings and emotions such as fear, pain, sadness, anger, and shame, and that these feelings may continue even after my work with dreams is concluded.

I take full responsibility and waive any claims of personal injury arising out of my work with dreams. I undertake to monitor and safeguard my own physical, mental, and emotional health, and to consult immediately with a qualified physician or other professional if I experience thoughts of suicide, or physical, emotional, or mental distress that may warrant medication or treatment.
